Distribution: 
Apparently it is found continuously from northern Uttar Pradesh to Bihar to whole of north-east India up to Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram. Some populations might belong to different species in future taxonomic revisions. Also found in other south-east Asian countries including Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, south China, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam etc.

Scalation
Head: 
Supralabial 7 or 8; 3rd & 4th or 4th & 5th in contact with eyes eyes; infralabial 8; temporal 1+2; Maxillary teeth 10-13.
Dorsal: 
Smooth scales in 17:17:15 rows. Reticulated crossbars present.
Ventral: 
156-182; anal undivided.
Sub Caudal: 
33-42; paired. Hemipenis shape non-bifurcated; reach to 12-18 caudal plates.
Habitat: 
It is found in moderate to high elevation forests of Himalayan foothill and north-east forests. In most areas it seems confined well in modified plantations of tea and other commercial vegetations.
