Found along the Himalayas from Jammu & Kashmir to Sikkim including Himachal Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Nepal, West Bengal (northern parts around Darjeeling), Sikkim; in most of upper northeast states including Meghalaya, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh etc. Also found in Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, Nepal and Pakistan. Type locality: Darjeeling, West Bengal, India.

Head: 
Supralabial 7 or 8; 3rd to 5th in contact with eyes; loreal 1, sometimes absent or fused with frontal; preocular 1; temporal 1+1 (3) or 2+2. Maxillary teeth 18-22, last 2-3 prominently enlarged.
Dorsal: 
Weakly keeled scales in 19:19:17 rows.
Ventral:
